Description
It is common for managers in the laboratory setting to learn by doing rather than being provided formal training in operations management. Not surprisingly, the folks that become lab managers often have a strong sense of key operational concepts. Managing by intuition is sometimes necessary, but having a more formal introduction to the concepts of how a laboratory operates from an operations management perspective can be a big help. Hands on exercises and use of a virtual laboratory’s data will generate a deeper understanding of how best to use the data we have available to keep the lab running smoothly all year round.
