Measurement Uncertainty seems scary to many, but the concepts behind it are rather straightforward. This module will provide a basic understanding of how measurement uncertainty is calculated and used. Top down and bottom up approaches are covered as well as exercises to calculate measurement uncertainty for applications such as weights and various analytical methods. Included are practice exercises for using available measurement uncertainty with previously calculated parameters as well as the calculation of measurement uncertainty “on the fly” from quality control data.
